Nani sparkled against Stoke, scoring a superb solo goal, and hit a wonder strike in the win against Chelsea at Old Trafford. An important cameo as a substitute in the draw with Basel also helped ensure United avoided a shock defeat to the Swiss champions. After his 100th appearance for the Reds in the game with Chelsea, Sir Alex said of the talented wide man: “Nani is marvellous. He’s a terrific player and he’s starting to mature. We’re going to get the best years out of him, no doubt.”
